  • New glassware!

Well, we have at least one new thing to report! Our initial order of glassware finally arrived! We wanted to pick up our first order in order to get our initial crowdfunding going, so we ordered both traditional growlers (64oz) and mini growlers (32oz), as well as pint glasses. We think that they look outstanding, and we hope that you do, too!

  • “How’s your brewery coming along?”

I frequently get asked “How’s your brewery coming along?” My answer: “Slowly!”

While there isn’t exactly a lot to show for it yet, we’re still hard at work on all of the details of opening a brewery. Our landlord still has to split the space, put in bathrooms, and so on — even before we can take possession of the space. We’re working with our architect on the plans for our new space, negotiating with the manufacturer on our brewhouse equipment, starting our licensing process, choosing a general contractor, and finding a company to work with on our sign.

We’re also looking at things like glassware, shirts, and other merchandise…and we’re hoping to use all of our newfound shwag to start a crowdfunding initiative, and we’re really hoping that all of you will get involved and help us!

As we have new news and progress we’ll be posting it here, and we look forward to your feedback!

  • A refined logo

So a few weeks ago I’m going through my Twitter feed when I see our logo. “Strange,” I thought to myself, “I don’t remember tweeting yesterday.” And then I notice that it’s a tweet from Telluride Brewing Company, and that it’s not our logo…just very similar! Crap!

Our designer, Kevin, had never seen their logo, but apparently he has similar tastes. But we knew we’d have to try again, and with Kevin’s help (and a trademark attorney), we think we’ve hit upon a winner.

It’s a little more simple and straightforward, and has the distinct advantage of being two-color, which will mean lots of flexibility…we can (and will )put it on just about anything! But at the same time it retains the coin-like feel, and all of the design elements we loved.

We’re very excited about it, and we hope you’ll start seeing it around soon!

  • We have a location!

I’ve avoided posting anything for fear of jinxing the whole deal, but we finally have a location! After the first site fell through in October I hit the road (again), looking at new spaces from Southlands to Ken Caryl and everything in between. With the help of our broker (Forrest Bassett) we narrowed it to two finalists, eliminated one during the Letter of Intent negotiations, and finally signed our lease this evening!

    Our location will be at:
    5150 E. Arapahoe Rd.
    Centennial, CO 80122

We’re hoping to be open this fall, and we’ll be posting a lot more as we have updates! Stay tuned!

  • So much for a location…

We thought we had a location in Greenwood Village all ready to go. We’d already agreed to the basic terms with the landlord, and we were just finalizing some dates and minor details when they came back to us and basically said, “Nevermind!”  They decided to halt all new leases for six months in order to renovate their facade and parking lot.

So we’re back to square one in the property search.  If you see anything around town that looks like it might have promise, please drop us a line!
